Who’s in charge of Kentucky Unemployment Insurance Benefits?
Kentucky’s unemployment insurance payouts are administered through the Kentucky Career Center. Unemployment insurance benefits in Kentucky give temporary financial assistance to qualifying people who have lost their jobs due to no fault of their own. While a worker is between employment, UI benefits assist to make up for missed income.
This unemployment assistance is not based on financial need, and benefits are paid weekly as long as a claimant meets the qualifying standards.

How To Qualify for Kentucky Unemployment Benefits
In general, a claimant may be eligible for UI benefits if he or she meets the following requirements:
- You are unemployed through no fault of his or her own
- You have worked in Kentucky during the previous 12 months
- You have earned a minimum amount of wages, as specified by Kentucky guidelines
- You are is actively seeking work

How Do I Apply for Kentucky Unemployment Benefits?
The best way to apply for unemployment compensation is through the Claims Portal, which is available online. Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., you can submit your initial claim online.

How do I Manage My Kentucky Unemployment Benefits
You must confirm with the state of Kentucky that you remain within state qualifying limits for each week you request unemployment benefits. You can do so by going to the Claims Portal and logging in with the same account you used to file your first claim.
It’s a straightforward process; all you have to do is answer questions regarding your job activity for the preceding week. You can, for example, supply information about any income you’ve made, as well as all of your job search activities and if you’ve accepted or rejected any job offers.

How Do I Appeal an Kentucky Unemployment Decision?

How Do I Report a Kentucky Unemployment Fraud?
Everything from manipulation of facts to identity theft can be considered unemployment insurance fraud. It is a serious felony to redirect unemployment benefits away from people who are most in need.
You can submit your concerns to the state of Kentucky if you suspect someone of committing unemployment fraud. To report fraud, go to the Kentucky Career Center’s website and fill out the form.
What if I quit?
In general, you are not eligible if you leave your work freely.
If you quit for “good cause,” though, you may be able to collect. The state unemployment office determines what constitutes good reason, and you can make your case for getting benefits.
You should be entitled to a hearing if your claim is denied so that you can explain your claim. You should contact your local office because regulations and conditions differ from state to state.
